Dr. Jon Lamm

Jon Lamm is a clinical psychologist and director of East Side CBT. Dr. Lamm specializes in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders across the lifespan and has been treating patients for over 10 years. His clinical work is empirically and scientifically driven, focusing on the employment of modern psychological theory within the framework of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Dr. Lamm utilizes a straightforward, down to earth therapeutic style, incorporating humor, sensitivity, and sincerity in his treatment. He also specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a theoretical offspring of CBT, that incorporates mindfulness and acceptance based techniques in order to further help clients build their life worth living. Most importantly, Dr. Lamm tailors treatment to each individual in an open and collaborative manner.

Dr. Lamm received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from St. John’s University. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ, and further trained at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, NYU-Bellevue Hospital Center, and Queens Hospital Center. Dr. Lamm is intensively trained in DBT, and has received additional specialized trainings in Trauma-Focused CBT and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. His research is in childhood social cognition.
